On Sunday, June 28th, 2015 the BET Awards aired on the network. The awards ceremony was definitely a big one, and Kendrick Lamar started off the stage performances. Kendrick Lamar At BET Awards. Kendrick had a great performance, and he first performed the song “Alright” on stage. Not only did he perform the song, but he also added some lyrics to it that were never before heard. The best thing about his performance is the fact that he did his performance on top of a cop car.
Kendrick went on to continue performing, and he definitely had the crowd eating out of his hands. The night had some great performances as well as tons of celebrities showing up. There were all kinds of celebrities in the crowd, including Busta Rhymes, Rihanna, Nicki Minaj and more. In fact, Smokey Robinson won a Lifetime Achievement Award, and what's up with the fact that he is still absolutely gorgeous?
Smokey Robinson has been doing music for over 40 years, and he is still touring right now as we speak. Even in his older age, he still looks as good if not better than he did when he was in his prime. Brad Reifler suggests that there were several performances, and even Meek Mill, Chris Brown, and Nicki Minaj hit the stage at one point. There were tons of celebrities that were in attendance at the show, and the 2015 staging of the awards is probably the best yet.
Papa John's is jumping on the all natural bandwagon with numerous other fast food chains including Subway, Panera, and Chipotle. The pizza giant has announced they have already begun working to eliminate artificial ingredients, flavorings, trans-fats, dyes, MSG, and so on from their menu. The cost of this decision is going to be about $100 million.
There are 16 ingredients in the process of being eliminated as Papa John's reworks their sauce recipes and so on. It seems that, literally, every day another restaurant or major food brand announces that they are going natural. The growing trend is positive in many ways including the bettering of the health of Americans, it also sets a good example for the next generation. Too long the extensive, and often scary, ingredients from Twitter.com and listed on food labels have been ignored and the products consumed with abandon. Change is coming and for good reason.
Bonnaroo 2015 is a music festival which is held in Manchester, TN from June 11-14. Young people from across the country come in droves to what can only be described as a modern version of Woodstock. Just like Woodstock, Bonnaroo is hosted on a farm. Bonnaroo features a huge lineup of performers and events for young adults whom are looking to have fun and camp out under the stars. It is truly an experience for the young and young at heart to enjoy.
Christian Broda tells me that this year's lineup featured many familiar names such as: Billy Joel, Deadmau5, and Kendrick Lamar. These familiar names that CrunchBase has written about are some of the best in the business and offer a great deal of fun and excitement for all. Something for all musical tastes is included: whether that is Jazz, EDM, or even comedy. Bonnaroo is never there to disappoint anyone. There are also plenty of exhibits which are paid for by corporate sponsors - particularly centered around environmental causes
Most whom go to the festival choose to camp out in tents. This is very similar to how young people in the past camped out at Woodstock. Visitors are encouraged to respect the property and treat others well while they are attending.
Some states are doing everything possible to try to get people to make healthier decisions when eating and drinking. New York has decided to make salt companies list warnings of what it can do to the body, and there won't be any more ads for soda in San Francisco. These might seem like extreme measures, but if people know of the consequences of consuming certain foods and drinks, then they might not be as inclined to choose those options. Sodas are empty calories, and salt can raise the blood pressure, which could lead to a stroke or a heart attack. FreedomPop reported that there should be more states that are willing to let people know of healthier choices. However, if states want people to eat healthier, then those healthy foods need to be affordable. There are people who want to eat healthier, but they can't get those items because they are more expensive than the sodas and salty foods.
The Mexican chain restaurant Chipotle is known for its delicious Mexican cuisine. Very few know about how well the company takes care of its loyal employees. Employee loyalty just got a huge reason to stay amongst the Chipotle Company. Hourly paid workers at Chipotle are in the process of getting paid sick days and vacation days. As it turns out, the company isn't stopping there. Chipotle is also looking to reimburse its employees for their college tuitions as well. Previously these benefits are only given to salaried employees but the company has decided to share these benefits with the rest of the workforce.
Vimeo users said that the chief marketing associates at Chipotle have decided to make room for the future. Instead of hoping that employees will stay around just for a paycheck, the company wants to give the employees something to look forward to. What better way to do that than invest in their employee’s future? After all, that is the foundation of Chipotle. 95 percent of Chipotle management team members are promoted from within. The company is very keen to the idea of promoting from within and getting the best potential out of every employee that they have on their roster. The recent news coming out of Chipotle has made heads turn not just amongst their customers and employees, but among their competition as well.
Chipotle’s raise in benefits and perks will surely have numerous restaurant and fast food giants tripping over themselves to ensure that their employees receive similar, if not the same, type of benefits.
Great news for all of the donut lovers out there, as the big and famous treat company Dunkin Donuts will be celebrating National Donut Day this Friday June 5 at participating locations. According to an article found on reddit and written by the Huffington Post, there will be several Dunkin Donut stores around the country that will be giving away a free donut to customers and they will likely have over 70 different ones to choose from on this day.
This is not only a great way to thank customers for their loyalty and for buying their donuts, but it is also a fantastic marketing tactic. The reason I say this is because no one ever really goes into a donut shop and buys just one donut, normally there are a few more bought or at least a dozen in the process. Not only that but by honoring National Donut Day they are also promoting their brand and recruiting new customers and fans. Everyone likes free stuff, so it would be hard to believe that a free donut would turn anyone away. The chain does well over all and there is no doubt that this will be a great day for everyone out there, even if they only go to claim their free donut and hit the road. BruceLevenson.com wrote that it will be a fantastic way to start the weekend and surefire win for everyone who goes.
